| Exposing Girls to STEM Careers
Girls from Southwest Academy Magnet School for Science and Engineering, had a wonderful morning together on Saturday, September 27th. Our WINGS (Women Instructing and Nurturing Girls in STEM) group is expanding. Three of our young ladies joined Ms. Barnes and their advisors (Ms. Hawkins and Ms. Johnson) at Morgan State University to hear from female college university presidents and leaders in various STEM career fields. This was a wonderful experience for each of them and they did an awesome job representing our school!
There were over 450 guests and our young ladies were the only students in the audience. Recently, our school was adopted by this organization. This year, they will co-sponsor our annual " Cool Women: Hot Jobs STEM Fair" during Women's History Month. Check us out on Twitter!
