Dear Southwest Academy Community:
My name is Terri Moses, the new 7th grade administrator at Southwest Academy. I am extremely excited to serve the school community and to support the students at Southwest.
This is my 19th year as an educator in Baltimore County Public Schools. Prior to my assignment at Southwest, I was an administrator at Deep Creek Middle School. I was a high school English Department Chair, AVID Coordinator, and standard, honors, and Advanced Placement (AP) Literature teacher for 15 years at Catonsville, Franklin, and Randallstown high schools. I also was an adjunct professor at the Community College of Baltimore County for several years. My bachelor’s degree is from North Carolina Central University; my master’s degree is from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, and my administrative coursework is from Towson University.
I am a firm believer that all students can learn and that we must prepare them to be competitive in the 21st century marketplace. I am a firm believer in the collaborative power of administrators, teachers, students, and parents/caregivers partnering together to help students reach their potential. I believe in direct communication and encourage stakeholders to do the same.
My interests include reading, writing, home decorating, and spending time with friends and family. I love working with students and adults. I have been a Marylander for over 37 years and lived in Baltimore County for several years. Currently, I live with my husband, ten year old son, and seven year old daughter. Together, at Southwest Academy, “excellence is possible.” Best wishes for a productive academic year.
Terri D. Moses
